The actress Su Hananel will be part of the special new season called "Por ellas" (For women), an important initiative organized by the Embassy of Belgium in Lima and Microteatro in Barranco with the purpose of raising awareness about gender equality. In this season, five 15-minute plays will open in March.
One of them is called "Historia de una muda" and it's being created with a highly sensorial approach directed by Paris Pesantes. The story builds around a woman (Su Hananel), who decides to confess how her life changes with the man she thought of as perfect. He first seems as her savior, but then, it takes an eerie turn.
All the plays have been inspired by comic stories written by young people from Peru, Bolivia and Ecuador as part of the contest #GeneraciónIgualdad, hosted by a campaign called Bélgica Contigo. Through them, different subjects are being explored such as gender stereotypes, violence, the inclusion of women politically and economically and their sexual rights.
"Historia de una muda" is Su Hananel's first one-woman show, written by Spanish actor and playwright Marcos García-Tizón. The season starts on March 13th and closes on April 10th at Microteatro in Barranco.
